5am comes awfully early. We were out the door by 5:30am on the way to the Underground, where we’ll catch a 5:58 am Tube to Heathrow. Being the first train out, it was fairly full. About 45 minutes to Heathrow, but the cost of the Tube was little more than 10% of what we paid to get into town from Gatwick. Sort of balances out, sort of.

Check-in and security was very quick here. We have some time to eat breakfast in one of the lounges before our gate is announced.
