Trip 51
September 14, 2025

Beginning of the next trip. (Day one is the trip from hell…)

Before we could leave the lounge in DFW, the partner airline (British Airways) for the London to København segment, cancelled and rebooked our connecting flight from London to København. Hopefully the last time in this trip the connections change, but it’s travel, so it’s unlikely….lol
We last visited Copenhagen almost exactly 8 years ago. This time, it’s about family!
While in the lounge in Dallas, I saw a photography YouTuber , Jared Polin, who “Shoots Raw” 🤣

The London connection was not to be the last change/delay. Walking down the jetway to board the flight to Philadelphia, we were turned around because they needed to change a tire. We’ll see if we make our connection to LHR.
Change (again) ! Flight from DFW to PHL so delayed we’d likely not make the connection. Since AA was taking volunteers to not board, the gate agent kindly offered to rebook us on a direct flight! Change terminals…right back near the gate close to the airport lounge from which we left two hours ago.
Now the map looks like this

9 hours later, we made it to London, but no earlier flight to København . Here we sit in London Heathrow in the (very) nice airport lounge for 6 hours . The flight to København is now delayed, or maybe not … We won’t really know until we board (more to come).
Waiting at the gate , but no pilot. I figured they needed those to fly planes. So here we wait…. 10 minutes before scheduled departure, the British Airways crew graciously shows up.
Anxious not to have a smooth flight, after boarding and everyone stowing luggage , the aircraft has power issues, so not this plane. This is a first (as was the flat tire).
Pull our carryon luggage out (FILO – first on, last off) , back thru the terminal, to a long line, to a bus, which takes us out to another plane on the tarmac, lug our baggage off the bus, up the stairs (no jetway) in the spitting rain. BA gave us a massive 6£ credit for snacks (no places in the ground level ticketing area), so maybe for another day. At this point, we just want a plane, that works, and has a crew, to our destination.
We finally made it to København, 3 hours and two aircraft, late. It’s 6:30pm on Monday ; we left DFW Sunday at 1pm.

We took a tog (train) from the airport to København Central train station (42DKK or about $6.60).
